What will you learn?
The course consists of a 4-5 -years integrated program based on four themes namely Human, Cells, Community, and Personal and Professional Development. Teaching and learning activities are based on systems of the body and not the traditional segregation of the field of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, and microbiology. The integrated medical program covers the cardiovascular system, digestive system and others, in which incorporates all the relevant basic medical sciences and clinical disciplines.
The curriculum emphasizes on student-centered learning with early identification of clinical experience. The curriculum includes exposure to community and public health, as well as an emphasis on behavioral science, communication skills and professional development. The research methodology and experience is a key component in the curriculum, while comprehensive clinical teaching ensures that students get sufficient clinical experience to become knowledgeable and skilled doctors.

To produce a trained, caring and competent doctors with sufficient knowledge and ability to work in a team·
To entrench a conscientious and compassionate attitude toward the sick and the general public to meet the needs of the individual and the nation·
To inculcate awareness on the legal and ethical responsibility of a doctor·
To inculcate the culture and the importance of continuing medical education for life.
Programme by Research (with thesis):
1) PHD
Student pursuing the Master or PhD degree with thesis:
A Degree with thesis is by default without coursework, subject to any other requirement as specified by the department. The supervisor may ask students to do coursework and students may request to do coursework subject to availibility of the course.
Submit a thesis for examination at the end of the programme
Comply with any other specific requirement of the relevant graduate programme, as specified by the department
Eligibility
- 550 for the TOEFL Paper-based Test (Academic Version); or
- Band 6.0 for IELTS (Academic Training) ; or
- 79-80 for TOEFL Internet-based Test (Academic Version); or
- Level 109 for CIEP at ELS Language Centre; or
- Band 4.0 for IELTS (Academic Training) or 400 for the TOEFL Paper-based Test (Academic Version) only for Malay Language Studies, Arabic, Chinese Literature programme or any other programmes that allow a thesis to be written in the language of instruction; or
- any English Language Test which is equivalent to B2 in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR); or
- Applicant who has graduated from Public or Private Institute in Malaysia which is recognized by MQA; or
- Applicant who has undergone their Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from Institute of Higher Learning in Native English Speaking Countries; or
- Applicant from any of the following native English Speaking Country and Commonwealth countries:

Career prospects
Doctors are compulsory to undergo horsemanship for two years after completing their Medical Degree. Doctors will gain full registration with the MMC with pre-registration training post of Medical Officer that was given by the Malaysian Government in the Government Hospital in the last 3 years before being allowed to work with private agencies. After the successful completion of pre-registration, the doctor will be supervised in any facilities such as hospitals, district hospitals, public clinics or private clinics.
