What will you learn?
The programme is designed to produce post graduates in veterinary science competent in animal disease diagnosis, treatment, control, investigation, and production. Post Graduates of the Faculty are skilled with day-one competencies to serve the veterinary and livestock industries.
These veterinarians have the required knowledge to practice in veterinary clinics and hospitals.
This programme is currently offered only to local applicants or DVM UPM graduates.
- Candidate must have a Bachelor degree (with honours), or DVM or Bachelor of Science degree in related field from UPM or any academic institution recognised by UPM university and have achieved a minimum CGPA of 3.00
- Candidate without basic requirements may apply, however, acceptance is upon approval by the School of Graduate Studies and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UPM or;
- Candidate in the final semester of a Bachelor degree programme in the field of veterinary, animal, or health science or human medicine or other related fields with good academic standing throughout the study programme may be considered for admission, subject to current CGPA or equivalent or other requirement as stipulated from time to time
- Candidate has fulfilled the language requirement as stipulated by UPM
Eligibility
For direct admission, an international candidate must pass the following tests with stated minimum passing marks:
i) TOEFL Written test (Academic version): 550 points
ii) IELTS (Academic Exercise): Band 6.0
iii) TOEFL Internet test (Academic version): 79-80
iv) TOEFL Computer test (Academic version): 213
vi) CIEP: Level 109

Career Prospect the Mater of Veterinary Science training prepares post graduates for a wide range of employment opportunities. Our veterinary post graduates had successfully gained in employment in many government and statutory institutions, veterinary clinics, marketing and technical consultancy, research, academia and animal production, to name a few. Currently, there is high demand for veterinarians by the private sectors, such as the small animal and livestock industries. Many post graduates opted to be selfreliant by establishing their own clinics or businesses in preventive medicine and personal consultancy for livestock farms. Some post graduates yearn for greater knowledge and pursue post-graduate studies culminating in a masters or PhD degree. These post graduates often secure employment by universities and research institutions.
