Realizing the new requirement from the International Maritime Organizational (IMO) and vast array of the maritime sector that includes electrical and electronics services, the institute had taken the initiative to develop a programme namely Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Hons.) in Marine Electrical and Electronics with the support from shipbuilding and ship repair industrial experts. This programme is in tandem with the need of the nation to increasingly liberalize Marine Electrical and Electronics services that include ship communication, ship navigation, ship control & monitoring systems as well as ship weapons system.
Prospective undergraduates will be offered courses/subjects in five sub-areas namely:
- Electronics System
- Electrical & Power System
- Instrumentation & Control System
- Communication & Navigation System
- System Technology
The amalgamation of the five sub-areas is meant to provide adequate knowledge to prospective BMEE graduates to venture into the employment areas not only specific to marine but also to those pursuing a career in other broad areas of electrical and electronics services and management.
Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)
PEO 1
To produce graduates who are knowledgeable, competent, and innovative, who will contribute towards the human capital in electrical engineering.
PEO 2
To produce graduates who have effective leadership and team work skills as well as verbal, nonverbal and interpersonal communication skills to support their role in the industry.
PEO 3
To produce graduates who practice professionalism with ethics and social responsibility and committed to the importance of lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
PEO 4
To produce graduates who are capable of embarking on business and technopreneurial activities.
Pass in SPM with at least obtain credits (C) in five (5) subjects:
1. Bahasa Melayu
2. English
3. Mathematics
4. And two (2) other subjects
Academic Requirement for admission in UNIKL University Malaysia
Diploma & Bachelor Programs
- Candidates in High school, secondary or A-level must hold min. CGPA of 2 out of 4 or must be passed.
- For studying engineering pass marks in Math, Chemistry and physics in high school.
Master Programs
- Bachelor's degree with min. CGPA of 2.75 out of 4 or equivalent in a relevant field of study.
- Any Bachelor's degree with CGPA of 2 to 2.5 out of 4 in a relevant field can be accepted subject to a minimum 2 years of working experience in a related field.
PhD programs
- A Master's degree with min. CGPA of 2.75 out of 4 or equivalent in a relevant field of study.
- Any Master's degree with minimum CGPA of 2 to 2.5 out of 4 in a relevant field can be accepted subject to a minimum 2 years of working experience in a related field.
English language requirement for admission in UniKL University Malaysia: It is mandatory for every international student to take English tests like TOFEL (Test of English as a Foreign Language or IELTS (International English language Testing System) with the minimum required score for respective programs.

Also, if by any chance you don't have the above qualifications in English, you can take the UniKL English placement test in Malaysia. You have to get passed in the test for getting admission to the English programs but in case you can't make it the you will be required to study a compulsory English course at UniKL.
Majors in engineering will be able to: PLO 1 Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialisation to the solution of complex electrical engineering problems. PLO 2 Problem Analysis:
