What will you learn?

Bachelor of Science in Architecture provides an integrated sub-professional curriculum to produce sub-professional human resource in supporting the development of the national building industry.

The programme will take 6 semesters or 126 credit hours. Studio teaching is the major component in the curriculum. In the studios, students will learn how to integrate various skills and knowledge gathered from other courses in designing built form/architecture. This kind of exposure will provide them with the required skills to display students’ ability and creativity. The studio teaching will be coordinated by a lecturer with the help of a tutor or an associate professional architect.

Graduates of the programme are qualified to take on sub-professional positions such as an architectural assistant or any relevant posts in the government services.

Entry Requirements: 

Entry requirements follow the minimum general qualification of UPM, which are:

STPM Applicant: 

1. Good Pass in SPM/ its equivalent; 
2. Passed with distinction in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia in SPM / its equivalent; 
3. Good Pass in STPM with at least;
i. Grade C (2.00 CGPA) in General Studies/Paper; and 
ii. Grade C (2.00 CGPA) in 2 other subjects; and 
4. Sat for Malaysian University English Test (MUET)


KPM Matriculation / UM Asasi Sains / UTM

1. Good Pass in SPM/ its equivalent; 
2. Pass with distinction in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia in SPM / its equivalent ; 
3. Good Pass in STPM with at least;
i. Grade C (2.00 CGPA) in General Studie General Paper; and
ii. Grade C (2.00) in 2 other subjects
4. Passed KPM Matriculation / UM Asasi Sains / UTM Foundation Year with at least 2.00 CGPA; and 
5. Sat for Malaysian University English Test (MUET) ;


Applicant with other Equivalent Qualifications 

1. Good Pass in SPM/ its equivalent;
2. Passed with distinction in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia in SPM / its equivalent; 
3. Other qualifications recognised to be an equivalent by the Malaysian Government and approved by the University Senate; and 
4. Sat for Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
 

Department's Special Requirements 

1. Priority will be given to applicants with good grades in Mathematics, Physics or Science at the SPM level or with at least principal in Physics and Mathematics at the STPM level 
2. Good Pass in English at the SPM level.
