What will you learn?
The Faculty of Human Ecology offers a Major-Minor programme, Bachelor of Human Development Science with Management – which combines two major fields of study: Human Development as the programme Major and Management as the programme Minor. This combination allow students to acquire and integrate knowledge and skills in those two fields. Changes in the era of industrialisation and the virtual world call for an institution of higher learning that produces graduates who are knowledge workers with the relevant skills for the nation’s evolving human resource market. The Bachelor of Human Development Science with Management programme is expected to produce workers with management skills besides effective roles as individuals in the family and society and organisations.
Programme Objectives
The programme aims to produce graduates who are:
- Competent in career related to Human Development Science with Management.
- Able to conduct research in the area of Human Development Science with Management.
- Capable to be an officer with ethical and integrity, or businessman in area related to Human Development Science with Management.
Eligibility
BACHELOR OF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT SCIENCE WITH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Candidates must fullfill the University General Requirements and Specific Programme Requirements:
University General Requirements
Pass in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM)/ its equivalent with a credit in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or a credit in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia July Paper; and
STPM Minimum Qualification
- Pass in the STPM Examination with at least: CGPA 2.00 and at least grade C (GP 2.00) in General Studies; and grade C (GP 2.00) in two other subjects; or
Matriculation/Foundation Minimum Qualification
- Pass in the Matriculation/Foundation Examination with at least CGPA 2.00; or
Diploma or its equivalent
- Diploma in appropriate field or other qualification which is approved by the UPM Senate; and
At least Band 1 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).
Specific Programme Requirements
STPM Minimum Qualification
- A minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in two of the following subjects at STPM level: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Accounting, Geography, History, Business Studies, Usuluddin, Syariah, Sport Science; and
- A minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) at STPM level in Mathematics (M)/ Mathematics (T)/ Information and Communications Technology (ICT); or
Matriculation/Foundation Minimum Qualification
- A minimum of Grade C (2.00) in two of the following subjects at Matriculation/ Foundation level: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Accounting, Business Management; and Mathematics; or
Diploma Minimum Qualification
- A Diploma in a relevant field or any other qualification recognised by the UPM Senate; and
Pass in one of the following subjects at SPM level with at least E/ 8E: Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Science.
