The Bachelor of Education (Teaching of Malay as the First Language) is offered to Diploma holders and STPM holders and those who have equivalent academic qualifications to further their studies to the bachelor’s degree level. This programme has been offerred since the year 1983. This programme has succeeded in producing graduates who can meet the demands in the fields of Malay Language education and Malay Literature education both in the public and private sectors. The programme was renamed in 2017 to the Bachelor of Education in Malay Language with a total of 127 minimum credits for graduation including 2 credits of extra-curricular course § The duration of study is 4 years (8 semesters) § Among the career paths that the graduates from the programme can enter are in the fields of teaching, research and editing
1. IELTS - 1. Minimum overall score of 6.0 for TESL/English or 5.5 for other programmes; or
2. 2. TOEFL - Minimum overall score of 550 for TESL/English or 500 for other programmes; or
3. Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) - Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) - enrolled at ELS-UPM - Level 109 English or Level 107 for other
Entry Requirement
Applicant who is interested in pursuing his/ her studied at UPM must fulfil the following: To have received a National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level or th equivalent of 12 years of basic education) with the grade 80% and above. or A Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00
