What will you learn?

Bachelor of Design (Industrial Design) is a four-year (8 semesters) program or 130 credits program.
UPM industrial design graduates draw on a range of core courses, inter-mix with creativity and technical know-how, which lead to the production of innovative design solutions. The programme encourages innovative thinking and development of practices which extend the discipline and application of new technologies to fulfill the needs of human resource by the industrial sectors.

Eligibility

1. STPM Candidates

i. Passed SPM or equivalent with good result;
ii. Passed with Credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level or equivalent;
iii. Passed STPM with at least;
- Gred C(NGMP 2.00) in General Studies/General Paper; and 
- Gred C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) other subjects; and
iv. Passed the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) 

2. Programme’s Special Requirements

i. Candidate must not be colour blind;
ii. A minimum of Grade B- (NGMP 2.67) in any one(1) subject; and
iii. Passed the admission interview.

*priority will be given to candidates with a credit in Visual Art at the STPM level.

B. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES FROM KPM MATRICULATION/ASASI SAINS UM/TAHUN ASAS UTM/ASASI SAINS PERTANIAN UPM.

1. University’s General Requirements

i. Passed SPM or equivalent with good result;
ii. Passed with Credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level or equivalent;
iii. Passed KPM Matriculation/Asasi Sains UM/Tahun Asas UTM/Asasi Sains Pertanian UPM with a minimum CGPA 2.00; and
iv. Passed the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) 

2. Programme’s Special Requirements

a. Biological Sciences/Physical Sciences Matriculation

i. Minimum of Grade B- (PNGK 2.67) in any one (1) of subject;
ii. Priority will be given to candidates with a credit in Visual Art Education or Innovation at the SPM level;
iii. Candidate must not be colour blind; and
iv. Passed the admission interview

b. Accounting Matriculation

i. Minimum of Grade B- (PNGK 2.67) in any one (1) of subject;
ii. Priority will be given to candidates with a credit in Visual Art Education or Innovation at the SPM level;
iii. Candidate must not be colour blind; and
iv. Passed the admission interview

c. Accounting Matriculation

i. Minimum of Grade B- (PNGK 2.67) in any one (1) of subject;
ii. Priority will be given to candidates with a credit in Visual Art Education or Innovation at the SPM level;
iii. Candidate must not be colour blind; and
iv. Passed the admission interview

C. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR A CANDIDATE WITH DIPLOMA
 

1. Accounting Matriculation

i. Passed SPM or equivalent with good result;
ii. Passed with Credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level or equivalent;
iii. Passed KPM Matriculation/Asasi Sains UM/Tahun Asas UTM/Asasi Sains Pertanian UPM with a minimum CGPA 2.00; and
iv. Passed the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) 

2. Programme’s Special Requirements

i. Obtained a Diploma in Industrial Design or Equivalent from local polytechnics or institutions approved by UPM Senate OR;
ii. Passed in SPM with a credit in Visual Art Education and Innovation and 5 years of working experience industrial;

* Priority will be given to candidates with a credit in Visual Art Education or Innovation at the SPM level;


iii. Candidate must not be colour blind; and
iv. Passed the admission interview
