What will you learn?
This program enables students to be provided with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in the rapidly growing arena of mobile commerce and computing, through exposure to mobile computing architecture-related courses. The curriculum consists of the latest advances in mobile applications, mobile networking technologies and standards, applicable for devices such as PDAs and Smart Mobile devices.
Each semester, the core content of the syllabus is subject to 10% alteration with the purpose of incorporating new developments and changes in technology into all computing courses. The 3-year program aims to provide in-depth understanding of the principles of networked systems, and key operational and technical aspects that are necessary for current applications, thus enabling students to absorb the fundamental concepts of computing and borderless computer systems. Students of this program should aim to master the relevant industry skills such as analysis and design, programming, software building and maintenance of new developments.
The Faculty constantly collaborates with industry advisory partners and stakeholders, such as Apple, RICOH and Oracle, who contribute constructive input every year to improve the program. Generally, industry collaboration provides students with the opportunity to be awarded with professional certificates and enhances their industry experience, thus increasing their employability. To date, our students are guaranteed co-operative placements with a total of 112 companies every year.
Throughout their studies, students are encouraged to participate in numerous research activities utilizing the university’s research and development laboratory that is equipped with the latest technology devices and computers. A comprehensive networking and wireless networking laboratory were also built specifically for computing and mobile computing students to garner industry experience in managing diverse network environments. This way, our students are exposed to a wide variety of technology-based platforms.

Foundation year
- Pass (Minimum CGPA of 2.0) inclusive of a minimum Credit (C) in Mathematics at SPM
STPM
- Minimum 2 principals (C grade), inclusive of
Principal (C) in Mathematics at STPM / A-Level, or
Credit (C) in Mathematics at SPM / O-Level
A-levels
- Minimum 2 principals (E grade), inclusive of
Principal (E) in Mathematics at STPM/A-Level, or
Credit (C) in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level
UEC
- Minimum 5 credits (B6), including Mathematics
National Matriculation
- Minimum CGPA of 2.0, inclusive of a minimum Credit (C) in Mathematics at SPM
International Baccalaureate (IB)
- Minimum score of 26 points in 6 subjects and minimum Credit (C) in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level/equivalent
Canadian Pre-U
- A minimum average of 60% in 6 subjects, inclusive of minimum 60% score in Mathematics and minimum Credit (C) in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level/equivalent
SAM
- A minimum average of 60% in 5 subjects, inclusive of minimum 60% score in Mathematics and minimum Credit (C) in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level/equivalent
Australian Year 12
- Minimum average of 60% in 5 subjects
Other qualifications deemed equivalent to STPM / A-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency
- Minimum overall average of 60%, inclusive of minimum 60% score in Mathematics
Diploma, (Computing-related) Diploma in Science & Technology
- Minimum CGPA of 2.5, inclusive of a minimum Credit (C) in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level
English Requirement:
- Minimum English language competency requirements are as follows: IELTS 5.0 or equivalent TOEFL PBT (410-413) or TOEFL IBT (34) or CAE (160) (Cambridge English: Advance) or CPE (180) (Cambridge English: Proficiency) or PTE (Pearson Test of English) (36) or MUET (Malaysian University English Test) (Band 3).
- In the event that the English Language Requirements are not met, student may be required to undertake additional English module(s) prior to or concurrently with the undergraduate program, based on the University’s decision.
International students holding equivalent academic qualifications, but which are not conducted in English, are required to sit for the English Placement Test, which may result in the taking of the English for Tertiary Education (1 to 10 months). Students who intend to pursue the above undergraduate program directly, are advised to fulfil the above English requirements prior to commencing their studies at the University.
