This degree program offers students an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of Mass Communication in today’s fast changing world. It synthesises theories, research, practical and intellectual discourses on critical issues in order to develop and instill within students the potential to achieve performance and inculcate leadership qualities in the field of Mass Communication.
Assessments
Coursework percentage: 60% and written examination percentage: 40%.
STPM / A-levels

UEC
- Minimum 5Bs including English
International Baccalaureate
- Minimum score of 26/42 points from 6 subjects
National Matriculation
- Minimum CGPA of 2.0 (credits are required for English at SPM / O-Level)
Australian Year 12
- Minimum overall average of 60% in 5 subjects
Canadian Pre-U
- Minimum average of 60% in 6 subjects
Other qualifications deemed equivalent to STPM / A-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency
- Minimum overall average of 60%
UCSI Foundation in Arts
- Completed (minimum CGPA 2.0/4.0) (credits are required for English at SPM/O-Level)
Diploma or equivalent
- Completed (minimum CGPA 2.0/4.0) (credits are required for English at SPM/O-Level)
Diploma in Media & Communication or equivalent
- Completed (minimum CGPA 2.0/4.0)
English Requirement:
- A distinction (A+, A or A-) in the English Language subject at SPM/UEC level; or MUET Band 5; or a score of 196 (computer-based) / 525 (writing-based) / 69-70 (internet-based) in TOEFL; or Band 5.0 in IELTS.
- In the event that the English Language Requirements are not met, student may be required to undertake additional English module(s) prior to or concurrently with the undergraduate program, based on the University’s decision.
International students holding equivalent academic qualifications but which are not conducted in English, are required to sit for the English Placement Test, which may result in the taking of the English for Tertiary Education (1 to 10 months). Students who intend to pursue the above undergraduate program directly, are advised to fulfil the above English requirements prior to commencing their studies at the University.
