As life experiences in this modern world assume increasing complexities and the change in social landscape may cause complications and confusion, many turn to the study of Psychology to understand the functional equilibrium between lifestyle, cultures and the human being.

The Psychology degree programme is constructed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills, which will assist them to achieve healthy adjustments in their social existence and occupational well-being. This degree programme exhibits two major features; namely, a balanced course exposure and three Co-Operative Placements through workplace experience.

Students will be exposed to learning abstract fundamentals in the discipline of Psychology, and also applied Psychology (eg. Industrial & Organisational, Educational, Clinical) to gain a taste of their practical values in social and community services.

This comprehensive training will enable students to derive a rudimentary understanding of the social reality of workplace environments in the larger society outside. Students will develop considerable self-confidence in meeting challenges coming their way upon graduation.

Eligibility

 International students / Entry Requirements

 

STPM / A-levels

  • Minimum 2 Principals. (For Psychology major, additional credits are required for a mathematics and a science subject & pass English at SPM / O-Level)

 

UEC

  • Minimum 5 credits (For Psychology major, credits in a mathematics, science subject and English at SPM / UEC is compulsory)

 

International Baccalaureate

  • Minimum score of 26/42 from 6 subjects

 

National Matriculation

  • Minimum CGPA of 2.0 (For Psychology major, additional credits are required for a mathematics and a science subject & pass English at SPM / O-Level)

 

Australian Year 12

  • Minimum overall average of 60% in 5 subjects

Canadian Pre-U

  • Minimum average of 60% in 6 subjects

 

Other qualifications deemed equivalent to STPM / A-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency

  • Minimum overall average of 60% (For Psychology major, additional credits are required for a mathematics and a science subject & pass English at year 11)

 

UCSI Foundation in Arts

  • Completed (minimum CGPA 2.0/4.0) (For Psychology major, additional credits are required for a mathematics and a science subject & pass English at SPM / O-Level)

Diploma/ Advance Diploma/ Degree/ equivalent

  • Completed (minimum CGPA 2.0/4.0) (For Psychology major, additional credits are required for a mathematics and a science subject & pass English at SPM / O-Level)

Diploma in Psychology

  • Completed (minimum CGPA 2.0/4.0)

 

English Requirement:

  • A distinction (A+, A or A-) in the English Language subject at SPM/UEC level; or MUET Band 3; or a score of 196 (computer-based) / 525 (writing-based) / 69-70 (internet-based) in TOEFL; or Band 5.0 in IELTS.

STPM/SPM/UEC/O-Level

  • In the event that the English Language Requirements are not met, student may be required to undertake additional English module(s) prior to or concurrently with the undergraduate programme, based on the University’s decision.

International students holding equivalent academic qualifications but which are not conducted in English, are required to sit for the English Placement Test, which may result in the taking of the English for Tertiary Education (1 to 10 months). Students who intend to pursue the above undergraduate programme directly, are advised to fulfil the above English requirements prior to commencing their studies at the University.
