What will you learn?
The Bachelor of Economics programme is designed to provide solid grounding in theory and economic knowledge and improve the critical and analytical skills of students. The core and elective courses are shaped to produce graduates with broad based as well as specialized knowledge. Since 2015, the newly introduced specialization system provides students the option to specialize in one of four (4) areas, namely;
• Economics
• Administrative Studies and Politics
• Development Studies
• Applied Statistics
Eligibility
• National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level equivalent) with the grade 80% and above
Or
• A Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00.
• Applicant may be required to undergo an interview session for certain selection program before being accepted by the respective faculty.
Students are required to enrol in the Malay Language Program prior to being conferred a degree.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Students must obtain:
• TOEFL score of 500 (PBT), 173 (CBT) or 60 (IBT) and above
Or
• IELTS Band 5.0 - 6.5 and above
Or
• Pass in any equivalent English proficiency test approved and recognized by the University of Malaya.
