What is this programme about?

This programme is a mixture of theory and practice in land and geospatial engineering.

You will be able to conduct all sorts of hands-on work, from simple land surveying, up to the advanced geographical information system and remote sensing application.

Geomatics is a term to describe the science and technology of earth measurements. It focuses on spatial information which is the digital connection between location, people and activities.

With the evolution of technology we have today, the collection, sorting, planning, design, storing, presentation and management are made easier.

Is this programme for me?

If you have a great interest in mathematics, then this programme is suitable for you as there will be a lot of calculations.

Students who are outdoor oriented would also love this programme as they will be involved in field work and site visits.

What will I learn?

This programme requires a variety of skills which includes computers, measurement and designs. There will be rigorous calculations needed in this area of study and work.

You will learn the basics of land surveying, as well as other spatial surveying including engineering surveying that is involved in all construction work. You will also experience processing the ground spatial data by using softwares and portray in 3D view.

Students will undergo 4 months of industrial training. Students will gain valuable industry related working experience through this training.

SPM Pass in SPM/SPMV with at least 3 credits (including Mathematics)
O-Level Minimum 3 Cs (including Mathematics)
UEC Pass UEC with at least 3 Bs (including Mathematics)
Certificate/SKM III Minimum CGPA of 2.00 with a C in SPM
SAM/HSC/AUSMAT TER/UAI: Average of 50% or higher in 5 subjects (including Mathematics)
CPU/CIMP Average of 50% or higher in 6 subjects (including Mathematics)
Other Qualifications Other equivalent qualification approved by the Malaysian Government
