Who should study Quantity Surveying?

Students with interest in buildings, finance, sustainability and technology are suitable to pursue this program.

They will acquire the skills to manage the costs relating to building projects, and the calculation from the initial to the final figures. Student will also learn how to minimize costs and enhance value for money in the projects they handle and also deliver quality projects on time.

What will I learn?

This programme will furnish students with the combination of computing & quantifying, managerial skills and construction technologies including the legal aspects of construction.

The programme will not only focus on the measurement work for building construction but also the infrastructure work related to civil engineering works.

Who will employ me?

How much will I make?

The average salary for a fresh graduate in this field can range from RM 1,800 to RM 2,600 monthly. But of course, your salary will also depend on the company that you work for. The more experienced you are, the higher your salary will be.

If you obtain the status of a registered quantity surveyor, it will increase both your job and salary prospects.

STPM Passed Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with full pass or minimum Grade C (2.00) in 3 subjects
A-Level Passed A-level with full pass or minimum Grade C (2.00) in 3 subjects
STAM Minimum grade of jayyid
UEC Passed Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with minimum for five (5) subjects including Mathematic
Diploma/ HND Minimum CGPA of 2.67 or

 

Miminum CGPA of 2.50 and 1 year of working experience in a relevant field; or

Minimum CGPA of 2.30 and 2 years of working experience in a relevant field; or

Minimum CGPA of 2.00 and 3 years of working experience in a relevant field

Foundation/Matriculation Achieve minimum CGPA 2.50Matriculation Certificate or equivalent and recognized by Ministry of Education, Malaysia
Other Qualifications
  1. Achievement of CGPA 2.00 minimum from Quantity Surveying or related construction diploma starting with Year 1.
  2. Achievement of CGPA 2.00 minimum from non-related construction diploma starting with Year 1.
