What will you learn?
The Masters of Educational Leadership (MEL) programme is aimed at educational professionals who aspire to be leaders or who occupy formal leadership roles within any sector of the education system. It is a contemporary, innovative, programme that draws upon cutting-edge research. It combines leadership theory with the most effective leadership practices. It produces graduates who are creative, innovative,and entrepreneurial and who can demonstrate a wide range of leadership skills.
This new programme has an e-learning component in the shape of a blended learning approach. Students can access notes and have on-line discussions through the University of Malaya learning platform SPeCTRUM (Student Powered e-Collaboration Transforming UM). This learning management platform offers means of virtual discussions and interactive features for students to collaborate and communicate with each other and with lecturers. SPeCTRUM allows for a very conducive blended learning environment.
Eligibility
• National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level equivalent) with the grade 80% and above
Or
• A Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00.
• Applicant may be required to undergo an interview session for certain selection program before being accepted by the respective faculty.
Students are required to enrol in the Malay Language Program prior to being conferred a degree.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Students must obtain:
• TOEFL score of 500 (PBT), 173 (CBT) or 60 (IBT) and above
Or
• IELTS Band 5.0 - 6.5 and above
Or
• Pass in any equivalent English proficiency test approved and recognized by the University of Malaya.
