What will you learn?
The programme is designed for those aspiring to hold positions requiring economic analyses and a high level of economic proficiency in business, industry and government. The programme aims to provide its graduates with broad knowledge in a wide range of areas in economics including development economics, financial economics, industrial organization, international finance, trade, monetary economics, public finance, Islamic banking and finance, environmental economics, macroeconomic modelling and econometrics. Students are also trained in conducting research to enhance their report writing and problem solving skills in areas related to economics necessary to be effective economic analysts.
Eligibility
• National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level equivalent) with the grade 80% and above
Or
• A Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00.
• Applicant may be required to undergo an interview session for certain selection program before being accepted by the respective faculty.
Students are required to enrol in the Malay Language Program prior to being conferred a degree.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Students must obtain:
• TOEFL score of 500 (PBT), 173 (CBT) or 60 (IBT) and above
Or
• IELTS Band 5.0 - 6.5 and above
Or
• Pass in any equivalent English proficiency test approved and recognized by the University of Malaya.
