Offered to candidates who do not have a specific degree in Shariah or Usuluddin but are interested to do interdisciplinary research in their area of specialization and Islamic Studies. This programme offers research opportunity at master level for candidate with background from various disciplines either Islamic Studies or not.
This is a pure research programme and there are no course modules for this programme. The medium of dissertation is in Malay or English, but under special circumstances, the Senate may approve the use of a language other than Bahasa Malaysia or English for the dissertation concerned. Some of special areas of research under this program include :-
- Islamic Education
- Islamic Studies with Science
- Islam and Social Sciences
• National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level equivalent) with the grade 80% and above
Or
• A Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00.
• Applicant may be required to undergo an interview session for certain selection program before being accepted by the respective faculty.
Students are required to enrol in the Malay Language Program prior to being conferred a degree.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Students must obtain:
• TOEFL score of 500 (PBT), 173 (CBT) or 60 (IBT) and above
Or
• IELTS Band 5.0 - 6.5 and above
Or
• Pass in any equivalent English proficiency test approved and recognized by the University of Malaya.
