The University of Malaya’s Master of Accounting (Reporting and Management Accountability) is a rigorous programme designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and strong foundations on theoretical concepts including analytical tools of accounting and its related areas. Courses are structured to provide the students with sound theoretical knowledge and research skills in order to them for the challenges facing accounting and business world. The learning approaches include a combination of lectures, case studies, written assignments, group project, presentations, class discussions as well as dissertations. The pedagogies are designed to assist the students in achieving the learning outcomes and to promote learning process in the most effective way. Each student is required to complete a minimum of 46 credit hours of learning and research activities that cover various aspects of the accounting field.
• National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level equivalent) with the grade 80% and above
Or
• A Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00.
• Applicant may be required to undergo an interview session for certain selection program before being accepted by the respective faculty.
Students are required to enrol in the Malay Language Program prior to being conferred a degree.
A Bachelor’s Degree (Hons.) or its equivalent in the related field*

Preference will be given to applicants having a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA 3.0 and above or its equivalent.
Applicants having a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA 3.7 and above can apply directly for the Doctoral programmeENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Students must obtain:
• TOEFL score of 500 (PBT), 173 (CBT) or 60 (IBT) and above
Or
• IELTS Band 5.0 - 6.5 and above
Or
• Pass in any equivalent English proficiency test approved and recognized by the University of Malaya.
The graduates of Master of Accounting (Reporting and Management Accountability) are expected to acquire advanced knowledge and research skills to administer and manage the financial affairs of various organisations, especially the business organisations in the private sector as well as ministries and departments in the public sector. The programme also serves as an avenue for the students to acquire the necessary knowledge in pursuit of higher degree; the doctoral level. The doctoral degree is deemed as necessary for any individuals who wishes to serve the institutions of higher learning as academics.
