Eligibility for the Different Programs

FOUNDATION IN SCIENCES (MEDICAL SCIENCES) Academic Qualification  5 credits and the minimum score of B for Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and one more subject.
English Language Requirements
  • A distinction (A+, A or A-) in English Language course at
  • SPM /UEC level; or MUET Band 5; or TOEFL score of 196
  • (computer-based) / 525 (written-based) / 69-70
  • (internet-based); or IELTS Band 5.5.
Additional English course(s) must be taken at UCSI University concurrently with the undergraduate programme if English Language requirements are not fulfilled.
The Foundation in Sciences has been designed in a way that it will allow the students to pursue any line of Medicine in their Bachelor’s program. With a focus on imbibing basic knowledge in Health Sciences, this program is for students who have made up their minds to pursue their higher education at the UCSI University.

The Doctor of Medicine program prepares students to become doctors who are then entrusted with the responsibility of treating others and manage the challenges in the field of healthcare. In this programstudents are equipped with various skills in the medical procedure along with fundamental knowledge so that they achieve the competence and skillsets needed to become a practicing medical practitioner.
 
Bachelor of Optometry Academic Qualification  Foundation in Science Health:
  • Minimum CGPA 2.50 including 3 Science subjects or Mathematics
STPM (science stream):
  • Minimum CGPA 2.50
A-levels (science stream)
  • Minimum 3 D including 3 Science subjects or Mathematics
UEC
  • Minimum CGPA 2.50 or B5 in 3 Science subjects and B6 in other 2 subjects
National Matriculation
  • Minimum CGPA 2.50
International Baccalaureate (Science stream) Minimum 30/42 points from 6 subjects
English Language Requirements

A comprehensive training in managing various eye conditions, this programme includes all those courses that provide an in-depth perspective in the field of optometric clinical skills and vision care. Students will be taught every aspect of ocular health - including preventive care, rehabilitation and visual therapy so that they possess the ability to diagnose and manage a full range of eye diseases in and help patients with special needs.
 
Bachelor of Nursing Academic Qualification  STPM (Science/Arts):
  • 3 principles minimum (B-) with a minimum CGPA 2.5
UEC (Science/ Arts): Mandatory grade B in: Mathematics (Elementary or Additional or Modern) AND At least one (1) credit in the following subjects:
  • General Science
  • Biology
  • Chemistry and pass in Biology
  • Physics and pass in Biology
AND Credit in at least three (3) others subjects A Levels (Science/ Arts): Pass with minimum 3 principles (C) including: Mandatory grade C in: Mathematics AND Either one (1) of the subjects below:
  • General Science
  • Biology
  • Chemistry and pass in Biology
  • Physics and pass in Biology
AND one (1) other subject HSC / Other qualifications deemed equivalent to STPM/A-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency(Science based): Minimum average of 60%: inclusive of 5 subjects: Chemistry AND Biology AND Physics/Maths AND two (2) other subjects

The Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) is a 4-year (8 semesters) full-time programme. UCSI is the first private university to receive full accreditation for a nursing degree programme. The course is intended to designed to develop graduates to make significant contributions to the field of healthcare. Focusing on basic sciences, theoretical and clinical modules coupled with competency-based learning, this course instills critical thinking in relation to nursing theories and evidence-based practices to provide patient-centric care.
 
Diploma In Nursing Academic Qualification  SPM: Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with (5) credits: Mandatory credits in: Bahasa Melayu AND Mathematics (Elementary or Additional or Modern) AND Either one (1) of the credit below:

The Diploma in Nursing is a 3-year (6 semesters) full-time programme. The focus of this programme is on the ‘art’ of nursing (caring). Upon successful completion of the programme, the students will be eligible to sit for the Malaysian Nursing Board Examination to be licensed as a Registered Nurse. The programme has accredited by the Malaysian Qualification Agency. The diploma is recognised by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) and is accepted by the Nursing Boards of many countries.
